New Brunswick's current healthcare policy regarding Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is failing patients by ignoring early stages of the disease. This approach prevents timely interventions that could potentially reverse the condition through diet and lifestyle changes. It's time for New Brunswick to unite, advocate for comprehensive CKD detection and treatment policies, and support innovative approaches to ensure all residents have access to early diagnosis and intervention for kidney health.
Why this matters?
Early detection and treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease are crucial for maintaining public health and reducing healthcare costs. It impacts every aspect of life in New Brunswick, from individual health outcomes to the overall burden on the healthcare system. When residents have access to early CKD diagnosis and treatment, they can take proactive steps to manage their health, potentially reversing the disease progression and avoiding more serious complications. It's about creating a New Brunswick where evidence-based kidney health policies prevail, and compassion guides our response to this silent epidemic.
